Wiltshire Timeless Stainless Steel Cookware Care Instructions
Congratulations on your Wiltshire kitchen glow-up!
To make sure your new cookware is around for both a good time and a long time, please read these instructions and remember where to find them for future reference.
Before First Use
Before first use, remove all packaging and wash your cookware in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
Using Your Cookware
- Always point handles towards the back of the stove to avoid them being knocked.
- Always position handles away from burners to keep them from getting hot. Caution: Handles may become hot during use. Use protection such as an oven mitt or dry tea towel when handling heated cookware.
- Avoid overheating the pan and never let it boil dry. This may cause discolouration or the pan to warp.
- Never leave your cookware unattended on the cooktop.
- Keep out of reach of children when on the cooktop.
- Always use a low to medium heat for cooking to achieve optimum energy efficiency. The continuous use of high heat will cause discolouration and may permanently damage your pan.
- Always ensure the area is well ventilated when cooking.
- Avoid the use of sharp metal kitchen utensils such as forks, knives or whisks. It is recommended that wooden or silicone cooking utensils are used.
- Ensure the same size or smaller element as the pan is used to avoid heat extending up the side of the pan and causing discolouration and damage to the handle.
- Do not use Wiltshire Timeless cookware in an oven, microwave, BBQ or open fire.
- Do not pour cold water into a hot pan as this may cause warping of the pan bottom and can cause grease to splatter.
- Never put hot glass lids on cold surfaces, in water, in the fridge or in the freezer as this may cause thermal shock. Allow them to cool naturally on a heat-resistant surface.
- Lift cookware to move it. Never slide cookware, particularly on glass cooktops, as this may mark or damage the cooktop surface.
Cleaning and Storage
- Immediately after cooking remove the pan from the heat and let it cool down naturally on a heat-resistant surface.
-Before cleaning ensure that the pan has cooled completely.
-For best results it is recommended to clean with a mild dishwashing detergent and warm water. Use a non-scratch dishwashing sponge to scrub.
-Do not use steel wool or coarse scouring pads/powders.
-Dishwasher safe – to eliminate water spots, remove cookware from dishwasher before drying cycle and dry with a soft towel.
-Hand washing is recommended. Over time, harsh dishwashing powders may dull the lustre of the finish.
-Ensure product is thoroughly towel dried after washing and before storing.
Cooktop Compatibility
Wiltshire Timeless cookware is suitable for all cooktops, including induction. Read your appliance manufacturer’s manual before use.
For glass cooktops including induction, ceramic and halogen:
- Always ensure the bottom of the pan and the cooktop are clean and free from debris. Permanent marks may result if not.
For gas cooktops:
- Never allow the flame to extend past the base of the pan as this may result in overheating of handles, (including if handles are indicated as ‘Cool Touch’, ‘Stay Cool’ or similar), or cause damage or discolouration to the outside of the pan.
- Gas cooktops may have uneven surfaces. Ensure pans are stable to avoid spills.
