Everyday Cooking Tips
Usage
• Cook on low to medium heat for best results and energy efficiency
• Avoid overheating or allowing cookware to boil dry, as this may cause discolouration or warping
• Always use a cooktop element the same size or smaller than the base of the pan
• Ensure good ventilation while cooking
• To prevent sticking, make sure the pan is sufficiently heated and add oil or butter for cooking
Handling & Safety
• Turn handles inward and away from burners
• Handles may become hot during use. Use an oven mitt or dry tea towel
• Never leave cookware unattended on the cooktop
• Keep cookware out of reach of children while in use and until completely cooled
• Lift cookware to move it. Do not slide, especially on glass cooktops
• Do not pour cold water into hot cookware, as this may cause warping or grease splatter
• Allow glass lids to cool naturally on a heat-resistant surface. Never place hot lids into cold water, the fridge or freezer to avoid thermal shock
Where Not to Use
Wiltshire Timeless cookware is not suitable for use in ovens, microwaves, BBQs or open fires.
Regular Cleaning
• Remove cookware from heat after cooking and allow it to cool fully before washing
• For best results, hand wash using warm water, mild detergent and a non-scratch sponge. Do not use steel wool, harsh scouring pads or abrasive cleaners
• Dishwasher safe - to minimise water spots, remove cookware before the drying cycle and dry with a soft towel.
• Ensure cookware is completely dry before storing
Deep Cleaning
• To clean stains, make a thick paste by mixing equal parts bicarbonate soda and water. Use the paste to scrub the stains off.
• To remove burnt on food, add a few tablespoons of bicarbonate soda to the cookware and top with water. Bring to a slow boil and use a wooden spoon to scrape the burnt food off. Wash the cookware thoroughly before drying and storing.
Cooktop Compatibility
Wiltshire Timeless cookware is suitable for all cooktops, including induction. Always refer to your appliance manufacturer’s instructions before use.
Glass, Ceramic, Halogen & Induction Cooktops
• Ensure both the cooktop and pan base are clean and free from debris
• Residue can cause permanent marks if not removed
Gas Cooktops
• Never allow flames to extend beyond the base of the pan. Excess flame may overheat handles, even those marked “Cool Touch”, “Stay Cool” or similar, or cause discolouration
• Gas cooktops may be uneven. Always ensure cookware is stable to prevent spills
